TSSCM allows an astrophotograher to mate a DSLR camera using a standard camera lens to a dovetail plate. This product will allow the user to piggyback a camera on their telescope.
TSSSBCM Santa Barbara Instrument Group was nice enough to include a tripod adapter screw hole in their very popular ST7, ST8, ST2000 and SST10 series of cameras. The cameras are easy to adapt standard SLR camera lenses for wide field exposures. The only problem is the tripod screw hole is not on the natural balance of the instrument. Our TSSSBCM is designed to overcome this and allow the use of the camera in “piggyback” mode attached to a standard 3″ dovetail plate. The camera mount is designed to mate with our TSSCB1 Clamp Block. For those that want to use a telephoto lens with your CCD camera the centerline of the lens is compatible with our TSSGR4 4″ guide ring. The guide ring is useful to stabilize the end of a long telephoto lens. The TSSSBCM is 6″ wide, 5.5″ high and 1″ wide. The camera nest is felt lined to protect your CCD camera. There is a clearance hole to bolt through to the triopd screw hole and opposite that is a “snubber” screw that is hand tightened to stabilize the off side of the camera.
